Fabrics

The foundation of the 18oz vinyl coated fabric is a 5oz high-tenacity (strongest) polyester yarn. The top side and underside have 6.5oz of coating that provides superior tear resistance, ultra violet, and anti-fungal protection, and water tightness. All cross seams are heat welded (not sewn). Shelter-Rite 18oz will not stretch, shrink, or rot. On average cover weighs 65lbs.

The foundation of this new lightweight Shelter-Rite SLT13 is identical to the Shelter-Rite 18oz fabric except the underside coating was reformulated and reduced to 1.5oz. The fabric still maintains the same tear resistance, ultra violet and anti-fungal protection, and water tightness as SR18. All cross seams are heat welded (not sewn). SLT13 will not stretch, shrink or rot. An average cover weight of your 47lbs.

Made from solution-dyed polyester with a water resistant back coating. This fabric is engineered for superior hydros and breathability. The coating on the underside prevents abrasion while the matte, woven top gives an attractive, outward-facing look. This easy to put on/off the lift, light weight 8oz water-resistant material is a great option for anyone.

Made from hybrid-coated polyester and is ideal for harsh manner environments because it offers exceptional resistance to abrasion while maintaining superior strength and visual appeal. Harbor-Time is a highly water repellent cloth that is resistant to both mildew and ultraviolet light. Fabric seams are heat welded (not sewn). An average cover weighs 42lbs.

Made of solution-dyed acrylic fibers with PVC coating on one side. The PVC coating is color matched with the acrylic, thus combining the elegance of the acrylic fabric with PVC for 100% waterproof performance. The 19oz waterproof fabric makes RecWater a suitable option for extreme weather conditions.

ShoreStation Boat Lift Canopy Replacement Guide

Replacement canopies for ShoreStation boat lifts are available at UnderTheSun Canopies in Standard Frame and Steel Frame configurations. ShoreStation is one of the most established boat lift brands in the industry, and while their build quality is consistent, getting the top-rail width measurement right is the critical step before placing your order. Every canopy is custom-made in the USA, ships with all mounting hardware, and is backed by a 5- or 7-year warranty.

ShoreStation Frame Characteristics

Most ShoreStation models use a horizontal crossbar frame that the canopy top drapes over. The key dimension to get right is the top-rail width — not the overall boat capacity rating, but the actual distance between the side rails where the canopy rests. Frame sizes vary considerably across the ShoreStation lineup, so measuring your specific lift is essential.

Measuring Your ShoreStation

The two numbers you need are the side rail length (front to back along the top rail) and the outside width at the widest point of the frame. Most ShoreStation canopies fall in the 20-24 foot range with widths from 96 to 120 inches, but models vary. Measure directly rather than relying on the lift’s stated boat capacity.

Fabric Recommendations

ShoreStation lifts are often in high-sun environments, so UV resistance matters. HarborTime is our first recommendation — handles extended sun exposure well, looks clean, and is lighter to handle. Shelter-Rite 18 oz vinyl is the heaviest-duty option. SLT13 is a good pick for seasonal storage situations where ease of handling is a priority.
